What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for an innovative, highly motivated and inspirational teacher to join the Severndale Team. You will be joining an exceptional group of highly skilled Teachers, Teaching Assistants and support staff who work collaboratively to provide a highly personalised curriculum. We particularly encourage teachers with experience in SEND provision in Special or Mainstream EYFS who have a passion for the EYFS Curriculum and learning through play to apply.

The main purpose of this post is to provide exciting and highly engaging quality teaching which delivers an appropriate curriculum that meets the needs of each pupil in accordance with the aims of the Academy. This will involve ongoing and close liaison with parents/carers, colleagues and other professionals and support staff. The successful candidate would join the Foundation teaching team (EYFS and KS1).

Role requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Qualified Teacher Status or desire to attain QTS
  • Early Career Teachers welcome to apply

  • Ability to build good relationships with children, teachers and parents

  • Ability to manage behaviour with SEND and trauma informed strategies

  • Ability to encourage engagement and inclusion

Severndale Specialist Academy:

Severndale Specialist Academy is a multi-site special school incorporating our Monkmoor campus, provision within a local mainstream secondary school and a purpose built 16-25 year old provision at our local college. We work with young people with special educational needs from within Shropshire and beyond. Our children and young people can access Severndale Specialist Academy from nursery age through to 25 and have a range of learning, physical and mobility difficulties and some students require personal care.
