What skills and experience we're looking for
West Bromwich Collegiate Academy is an oversubscribed Secondary School in the Black Country. The Academy opened its doors in September 2019 with 175 students and has continued to grow each year. It is now at full capacity with 805 students on roll.
West Bromwich Collegiate Academy is committed to and inclusive education for all students at every ability and equipping students for the future through teaching them relevant and cutting-edge skills for the era in which they live. We are looking for passionate and creative teacher who work well within a team and who will help us on our journey to provide exceptional educational provision for our pupils and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with teaching assistants, the SENCO, learning mentors as appropriate
- Support Intervention managers in creating and reviewing Learning plans for SEN students.
- Support and upskill teachers in adaptive teaching methods
- To deliver the Certificate of Personal Effectiveness from Asdan or a similar life skills program.
- To teach small groups of SEN children with complex needs specifically focusing on EHCP outcomes

- Have experience teaching across the key stages.
- Be a consistently good/outstanding teacher.
- Be an exceptional classroom practitioner with high expectations of both learning and behaviour.
- Able to inspire, motivate and enthuse pupils.
- Committed to raising standards for all and share the same drive to constantly learn and improve.
- Show willingness to lead initiatives and show evidence of impact.
- Demonstrate a passion to make a difference to others.
- To be proficient with the use of technology for learning and have a willingness to innovate.
