SEN Teaching Assistant 1:1 job summary
West Butterwick C of E Primary Academy is seeking to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant 1:1 to support a child with an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP). If you are someone who believes that all pupils regardless of their personal circumstances can excel and you have the ability to engage, enthuse and inspire our young people, then this job is for you!
The post is fixed term whilst the child remains in school and part time.
We are looking for someone who can provide the love, care and support our children need, as well as carrying out interventions to support with their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Experience of supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities is essential; however, training and ongoing support will be provided for the successful candidate.
Working hours - 17.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday - 8.45am-12.15pm (term time only plus 5 training days)
The successful applicant will have:
An understanding of EHCPs.
The knowledge of how to support pupils with additional needs.
Excellent communication skills.
Be able to work as part of team as well as using your initiative.
Be willing to adapt and be flexible to changing circumstances.
