SEN Teaching Assistant Apprentice job summary
As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to help pupils access learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with Special Educational Needs both individually and in small groups.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging learning activities.
- Encourage pupils' social, emotional and academic development.
- Help create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Support children with communication, behavioural or learning needs.
- Assist with preparing classroom resources and learning materials.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school community.
The successful candidate will:
- Be passionate about supporting children and young people.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be patient, caring, reliable and enthusiastic.
- Be willing to learn and develop new skills through training and mentoring.
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Have a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above, or be willing to work towards achieving these qualifications where required.
