We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and talented team at Lerryn Church of England Primary School We are part of a diverse multi-academy trust, looking for professional and ambitious people, with a passion for transforming our pupils’ learning.

Lerryn Church of England Primary School is a smaller than average school, set in the beautiful surroundings of Lerryn village. We aim to develop a love of learning in our children to last through their lives. We want to enable all our children to realise their full potential, their talents and their interests in all areas.

We are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant - to assist in the educational, personal, and social development of a child with SEN under the direction and guidance of relevant colleagues (e.g. the Headteacher, SENCo and Class Teacher). Our ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working with children with SEN on 1:1 basis or in class
  • Preferred training or experience in Makaton
  • Be passionate about working with SEN children
  • Be flexible, proactive and patient
  • Be able to communicate effectively within a team

The role would be term time from 8.45am - 3.15pm, Monday to Friday, totaling 30 hours a week. This is a fixed term contract until 31st August 2025 subject to ongoing funding being received.
