What skills and experience we're looking for

Medina Primary School is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and inclusive individual to work with ouramazing pupils. If you are ready for a new challenge and enjoy working as a team player, then pleaseapply.

This particular role is to support pupils with high levels of SEND across the school. This candidate will needto be flexible and work in a range of children supporting them to thrive academically, socially, andemotionally both in class and in our alternative learning spaces.

We are looking for an individual who has excellent skills and knowledge in this area and is able to evidenceprevious experience of working with SEN children in a primary school to ensure the statutory needs can bemet for these pupils. CPD will be provided along with support from outside agencies.

We are looking for someone with a strong, sensitive, caring and relational approach to children’s needs,who is able to be an effective communicator.

• Provide a sensitive and nurturing approach to children’s needs
• Be committed to supporting individual children's social, moral, emotional and academic well-being
• Have an empathetic understanding of children's emotions and behaviour and actively seeks to remove barriers to learning

• Be patient, cheerful and understanding
• Have good interpersonal skills
• Be full of innovative ideas and strategies to adapt to daily challenges
• Communicate effectively with children, team members and the wider community
• Have the ability to use their own initiative and to work as part of a team
• Have prior knowledge and experience of working with children with special educational needs
• Be calm, consistent and fair – ensuring that children are safe and happy

The candidate will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK.
