What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs and a flexible, proactive approach to learning.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting

  • Good numeracy and literacy skills (GCSE Grade 5/C or above, or equivalent)

  • Experience or a strong interest in working with children with special educational needs

  • A flexible and creative approach to supporting learning

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, colleagues, and parents

  • A calm, positive, and patient manner

  • Ability to work constructively and collaboratively as part of a team

  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to ongoing professional development

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of strategies and approaches that support children with a range of educational needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, sensory needs)
