What skills and experience we're looking for
Oasis Academy Skinner Street currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated part time practitioner to join the team as a SEN Teaching Assistant, supporting teaching staff with responsibility for the development and educational provision of learners.
Job overview
You’ll be responsible for supporting the SENCO and working with pupils on a whole-class and individual basis, preparing resources to support learning activities as well as ensuring pupils are supported pastorally. You’ll contribute to evaluating student progress and provide feedback to the SENCO to ensure all students’ learning needs are being met.
This role requires a minimum of 20hrs - maximum of 30hrs per week term time only plus 1 week for inset days, to be discussed at interview.
Job requirements
- A minimum of 3 GCSEs at C grade or above, including English and Maths
- Teaching Assistant qualification desirable
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in tandem with teaching staff
- Ability to be empathetic and understanding to the needs of students
