What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and dynamic team at Pine Green Academy, a specialist school that provides high-quality education and care for students with SEMH needs.

What we are looking for:

  • Collaborate with the teachers in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons for individuals and groups of pupils
  • Collaborate with the student's educational team and parents to develop and implement intervention strategies for the classroom and within the school environment that allows the student to integrate behaviourally into the school setting successfully.
  • Support staff in dealing with challenging behaviours
  • Implement agreed learning activities using strategies in liaison with the teacher, to support pupils to achieve their next steps in learning.
  • Work in partnership with other adults involved in the education process and liaises with external professionals and parents/carers in relation to specific areas of responsibility, including taking the initiative to establish links where necessary
  • Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate
