SENCO Assistant job summary
Contract: Permanent
Grade: TSPT 6, points 17 - 21
Salary: £11,325 - £12,425 (FTE £27,261 - £29,900)
Hours: 20 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
Mon - Thurs 9:15am - 2:45pm with 30-minute unpaid break
Start date 1st September 2026
This admin role is based out of class and involves supporting the achievement for children in vulnerable groups including children with SEND.
The successful candidate will work under the professional direction of the SENCO as part of the professional team to support learning activities for pupils. Experience of the SEND Code of Practice would be an advantage, but not essential.
You will:
Contribute to the management and support of pupils during learning activities.
Establish and maintain relationships with individual pupils and groups.
Review and develop own professional practice.
Deal with pupils’ therapeutic, pastoral and personal care needs.

Midfield Primary School is situated on the outskirts of the London Borough of Bromley neighbouring Bexley borough. Our school has a wonderful environment in which to learn and work, set in beautiful extensive woodland grounds backing onto Scadbury Woods – a jewel in an urban setting. This includes 3 Forest School areas, an edible garden, a full size Celtic Hut, two large playgrounds, an outdoor stage, trim trails, a swimming pool, musical garden and an extensive playing field. It has excellent transport links and is close to the A20 and North Kent areas.
