Job Title: Compliance and Complaints Manager

Location: Home-based with occasional travel to Head Office and Schools within the trust

Salary: £40,000 Fully Time Equivalent (£32,432 per annum actual salary)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Permanent

About You

As Compliance and Complaints Manager at Creative Education Trust, you’ll play a key role in supporting a culture of accountability, transparency and high standards across our schools. Working closely with the Head of Governance, you’ll lead on complaints coordination, compliance monitoring and operational assurance, helping to ensure consistent, professional and effective practice across the Trust.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Experience of working within compliance, governance, complaints handling or another regulated environment, with a strong understanding of confidentiality and professional standards.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records and oversee multiple compliance processes effectively.
  • Confidence in handling sensitive matters with tact, diplomacy and professionalism, alongside strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience of monitoring compliance activity, identifying risks and supporting continuous improvement across teams or organisations.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret and apply statutory or regulatory requirements accurately.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues across academies and central teams
  • A commitment to high standards, equity and continuous professional development, aligned with the values of Creative Education Trust.

About the Governance Department:

The Governance department plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective management, compliance, and strategic direction of the Trust's academies. The governance framework is designed to uphold integrity, accountability, and a commitment to excellence across all schools within the Trust. This framework includes multiple layers such as the Trust Board, Academy Councils, and the Executive Leadership Team, all working collaboratively to oversee financial management, educational performance, compliance assurance, and strategic initiatives. The Governance and Compliance team supports these efforts, ensuring consistency, effective oversight, and adherence to the Trust's Scheme of Delegation.
