ABOUT THIS ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Ormiston Denes Academy, for a passionate and experienced teacher to join our well-established team in the role of SENCO. We are seeking an ambitious, dedicated professional who is determined to make a meaningful difference to students with additional needs, ensuring they receive the support and opportunities required to thrive both academically and personally.

The successful candidate will be a committed advocate for students with additional needs, with a strong track record of leading SEND provision and driving inclusive practices that make a measurable impact on student outcomes. You will either hold or be working towards the National Professional Qualification for SENCOs or the NASENCO qualification. You will uphold and continue to develop a well-embedded culture of inclusion across the academy, ensuring that all students—regardless of need—embody our values of Ready, Responsible, Respectful, Kind and Proud.

You will be leading a well-established team of Learning Support Assistants, offering strategic direction, mentoring and day to day support. Your role will involve working closely with staff, students, and families to ensure that SEND provision is both effective and compassionate, and that every student can thrive.

If you have a strong background in SEND or inclusion, we would love to hear from you.

ABOUT YOU

  • A creative, inspirational and well-qualified teacher with a strong understanding of SEND and inclusion.
  • Experienced in leading and improving SEND provision, with the ability to maintain high standards and drive continuous improvement across the academy in all areas relating to SEND.
  • Confident in the development and use of systems and data tracking, particularly in monitoring progress and outcomes for students with additional needs.
  • An excellent communicator, able to build strong relationships with students, parents, staff and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for every child.
  • Passionate about making a difference to the education and overall wellbeing of our students, ensuring that every child feels valued, supported and empowered to succeed.

At Ormiston Denes Academy we place high value on staff development and with us, you would receive a comprehensive induction and training package, along with:
