We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic professional to join the team at Prendergast School from September 2023. The postholder will assist the Assistant Headteacher – Behaviour & Welfare with the strategic development of SEND policy and provision. In consultation with external agencies, the SENCo identifies and meets the needs of children with special educational needs, whilst ensuring the systems are co-ordinated, evaluated and regularly reviewed.
The post holder will review targets and support plans with parents, children, colleagues and relevant outside agencies in order to agree and communicate targets and help children achieve their maximum potential. Previous experience in a similar role or attainment of the National Award for SEN Co-ordination (or equivalent) would be an advantage. You will also line manage the Learning Support Team, ensuring that support staff are deployed to meet the needs of SEND students.
