Our Opportunity
We are looking to appoint an experienced and committed individual with excellent SEND knowledge to lead our SENCo provision at the school.
You will be an integral part of the Leadership Team, providing a high level of managerial and operational direction for the school.
This is a great opportunity for current SENCo leaders or teachers looking for career progression in this key area of educational provision.
Part of your responsibilities will be to:
Work with the Principal, ELT and SLT, to manage the SEN team.
Provide appropriate CPD for all staff so they can fulfil their responsibilities effectively.
Plan and manage systems to ensure that the special educational needs of individual students are identified promptly and are recorded up to date in the SEN register.
Organise whole staff training pertaining to the teaching of students with SEND.
Review the SEN report for parents on at least an annual basis
Liaise with staff, parents, governors, external agencies and other schools to coordinate their contribution to providing maximum support for students and ensure continuity of provision across educational settings.
You will be an excellent classroom practitioner, adapting your teaching to be fully inclusive, ensuring all students are successful.

Scarborough UTC underwent an Ofsted Inspection in November 2022 and were awarded “Good” across the board. There has been a transformational change since the previous pre-covid inspection, it is a growing college.
