SENCO job summary

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, creative and inspirational SENCO to lead the Special Educational Needs provision. The role will require high levels of personal and professional commitment and the ability to work successfully as part of a team will be essential. You will be an excellent practitioner with the National SENCO Award (or equivalent) and under the direction of the headteacher be responsible for determining the strategic development of the SEN policy and provision in the school, the day-to-day operation of the SEN policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability and provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies. This role includes teaching and is split 25 hours teaching (including 3 PPA) and 25 hours SENCO across a two-week timetable. We are a friendly and caring community placing the academic progress and welfare of our students at the heart of everything we do. Professional development is key to our ongoing success and so offer a variety of opportunities for professional development. Applications from experienced teachers are welcomed.
