SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant job summary

Temporary contract linked to funding

18.58 hours per week

Term time only + 5 Inset Days

We are looking for a SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant who, within an agreed system of supervision by our wonderful Teachers, can implement agreed work programmes with individuals both inside & outside of the classroom environment. You may assist the Teacher with elements of the planning cycle and the preparation of resources. This position would suit a positive, energetic, proactive team-player who has previous SEND experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Attend to the pupils’ personal needs, and implement related personal programmes, including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters
  • Use specialist (curricular/learning) skills, training &experience to support pupils
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care Programmes
  • Monitor and evaluate pupils’ responses to learning activities through observation and planned recording of achievement against pre-determined learning objectives
  • Encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all pupils in activities
