What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking a SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our team at New Horizons Children’s Academy on a fixed term basis. The successful applicant will provide teaching and learning support on a one-to-one basis under the guidance of the class teacher. Our Teaching Assistants assist teachers with observation and monitoring of the progress of pupils, maintaining accurate records in order to ensure documentation of all interventions with pupils, detailing their progress and achievement.

The Teaching Assistant will assist in the supervision of pupils and promote learning and safety, for example, at break and lunch times and on educational visits, promoting positive behaviour patterns, raising self-esteem and improving independent working in pupils to assist in their education and growth.

Experience preferred as the successful candidate will provide support to pupils with SEMH needs.

This vacancy is a fixed term one year contract.
