Are you an outstanding administrator looking for a role where your work really matters?

Eastbrook School is looking for an organised, flexible and highly effective Administrator to join our established administration team, with a particular focus on supporting our growing Special Educational Needs (SEND) provision. Eastbrook is a large and growing all-through school, educating pupils from Primary through to Secondary and Sixth Form. As our pupil numbers increase, we are continuing to strengthen our SEND provision, including the development of our all-through Additional Resource Provision (ARP).

This is a new role and an excellent opportunity to help shape and support the administrative systems behind this important area of the school. Eastbrook works in close partnership with Barking Abbey School and is part of Mosaic Schools Federation, sharing expertise, systems and professional practice across our schools. You will provide high-quality administrative support to our Assistant Headteacher for SEND, working closely with the SENCO, ARP Lead Teachers and other colleagues involved in SEND provision, playing a key role in keeping SEND information, records and processes organised and up to date, while also acting as an important point of contact for parents, carers and external professionals.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining accurate SEND records, data and documentation;
  • Supporting reviews, meetings, referrals and statutory processes;
  • Organising meetings, appointments and documentation;
  • Taking accurate notes and minutes where required;
  • Communicating with parents, carers, staff and external professionals;
  • Monitoring deadlines and following up required information;
  • Producing correspondence, reports and other administrative documents;
  • Supporting wider pupil administration and school office duties when required.

Although this role has a specific SEND focus, you will also be part of the wider Eastbrook administration team, working within established school systems and procedures. Experience within a SEND, educational or local authority setting is highly desirable. However, if you do not have direct experience, we will provide training and support to help you develop your knowledge of SEND processes, school systems and relevant policies. Previous experience in a school or educational environment would be helpful, but most importantly we are looking for someone who is:

  • An excellent administrator with strong attention to detail;
  • Highly organised and able to manage competing priorities;
  • Excellent IT skills and confidence using digital systems;
  • Communicates clearly, professionally and sensitively;
  • Confident dealing with parents, carers and external professionals;
  • Can work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.

In return we offer:

  • A Good school with a welcoming and supportive community.
  • A school which understands the importance of staff well-being and workload management.
  • Purpose built specialist learning environment with industry level resources.
  • A commitment to develop your skills through continued professional development.
  • A supportive and committed Leadership Team and Governing Body.
  • The opportunity to work with passionate, hardworking and supportive staff.
  • A student-centred, progress focused ethos.

Eastbrook is an all through school. Whilst staff may be primarily based in secondary or primary, there is an expectation that staff contribute to and work across all key stages. Eastbrook School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and is an Equal Opportunities Employer.  This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and a comprehensive screening process, including Disclosure check, will be undertaken on all successful applicants.
