SEND and Complex Needs Class Teacher (Hatchside Juniors) job summary
We are seeking for a SEND and Complex Needs Teacher to be part of the Hatchside School team.
Hatchside School’s ethos is based on the principles of Early Years practice, the aspiration is for Hatchside School to become a role model to schools and settings for children with SEND and become known as a beacon of good practice.
Hatchside Infants is looking to appoint an adaptable, motivated and enthusiastic Teachers to teach Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils.
We welcome applications from those with some/little experience in this area of work but wish to develop a career in a special school environment.
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic teacher who:
- Holds QTS
- is self-motivated, resilient and flexible
- has a secure knowledge and understanding of curriculums – including KS1/2 National Curriculum and/or EYFS framework requirements and the implications for pupils with disabilities and learning difficulties
- is an outstanding practitioner who can deliver high quality of education for all pupils at school
- can build effective, positive relationships and work collaboratively with all stakeholders including parents/carers, therapy teams and other specialist services to support the development of the pupils and ensure the best outcomes possible
- enjoys a challenge and wants to be part of team of an exciting journey in setting up a new school

Hatchside School opened in April 2021 as a new 64 place special school, in response to the growing numbers of pupils requiring specialist placements. It’s curriculum and practice are founded on the principles of early intervention and assessment, particularly as pupils are currently aged 2-7 (EYFS/KS1). We admit pupils who have severe and profound learning difficulties with a range of special educational needs including; Sensory impairments/Autistic spectrum disorders/associated behaviours/physical and medical needs. The school serves a multi ethnic population, which reflects the diversity of the borough and East London.
