St Barnabas Trust is looking to recruit an outstanding SEND teacher to join our team. This an exciting opportunity to work within St Barnabas Multi Academy Trust at St Martin’s School.

St Martins is a vibrant and nurturing church school for children aged 3-11. Our dedicated team works closely to recognise and develop each child’s unique gifts and talents, helping them flourish in confidence, character, and independence. Alongside a strong academic foundation, we offer an embedded outdoor adventure curriculum that inspires curiosity, exploration, and a lifelong love of learning.

We are looking for a teacher who will truly make a difference in children’s lives.

  • demonstrate high quality teaching across the primary curriculum
  • have a secure understanding of the SEND code of practice
  • has has experience teaching pupils with SEND
  • proven ability to engage learners and drive progress
  • strong understanding of assessment and using this to track progress
  • knowledge of autism strategies and interventions
  • excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
  • contribute to our Church of England ethos
  • maintain a dynamic, inspirational and challenging learning environment suitable for SEND learners

St Barnabas Multi Academy Trust is made up of a group of 13 schools, of which St Martin's CE Primary School is one, who work closely together in order to ensure they provide the best education for pupils in the Liskeard Area. Our vision is that of the parable of the lost sheep. We work hard to ensure that everyone is valued and that nobody gets left behind.
The Trust is evolving all the time, most recent developments include; improvements to the delivery of reading, a focus on the teaching oracy, development towards a 'Knowledge Rich Curriculum', a full outdoor programme from YR-Y6 and a residential programme that includes all pupils from Y2 to Y6.
School leaders work closely together sharing expertise. Senior leaders from each school meet fortnightly with the CEO to effect change and support each other to raise standards across the Trust.

Teachers across the Trust share the workload by actively working together to support; subject leadership, curriculum development, planning, outdoor education and residential visits. In this way everyone feels part of the wider organisation and understand the benefits of a collaborative approach.
