Are you a dedicated and experienced educator passionate about making a difference in the lives of Children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Co-op Academy Delius is a high achieving, friendly academy for pupils from 2-11 years with a range of complex educational and medical needs. We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team, where you'll play a pivotal role in our SEN educational provision.
Co-op Academy Delius are looking for an experienced SEND HLTA, Care Team Lead who is passionate and dedicated to managing and developing the personal care, therapy and learning activities of all our pupils in school. As SEND HLTA and Care Team Lead you will work closely with children, families and different professionals it is therefore essential you display a positive attitude at all times and be a naturally caring, nurturing and supportive individual and team player.
You will have experience of working collaboratively with a range of professionals to achieve the very best outcomes for our children. You will deliver bespoke, specialist education tailored to meet the evolving needs of SEN pupils, including those with complex requirements. You will develop and implement personalised learning to support each pupil’s unique needs and abilities. Use innovative teaching methods and resources to engage and inspire young learners. Collaborate with external agencies and our wider inclusion team to ensure holistic support for pupil’s development. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence and growth.
The highly skilled and dedicated staff at Co-op Academy Delius are passionate about supporting our pupils, and each other and we recognise the importance of working in partnership with parents and other professionals as well as enhancing our links in our local community and beyond. In your role as SEND HLTA & Care Team Lead you will;
- Plan the deployment of support staff for a range of personal care (including medical interventions) and therapy activities.
- Complement and proactively support the teacher in delivering effective teaching, learning, assessment and recording;
- Complement and proactively support the delivery of care, support programmes, interventions and therapies (including feeding, personal hygiene, mental health, physical health and behavioural)
- Supporting and lead specific training for all staff, within the post holders' level of additional qualification or accreditation.
- Supervise, mentor and evaluate SEND Support Staff and their effectiveness in these roles.
- The postholder will be a key trainer for moving and handling pupils.
- Support the class teacher in the planning and delivery of an appropriately differentiated and suitably challenging creative curriculum for all pupils whilst meeting statutory requirements;
- Work within school policies, procedures and code of conduct under the direction and guidance of senior staff and within an agreed system of supervision (and delegation).

- Are an excellent practitioner. A specialism or additional training in Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Are confident in the classroom and understand how children with SEND, learn.

- Are able to work to their own initiative as well as part of a team.
- Are confident and excited about using and embracing IT and outdoor learning in their practice.

This role is customer facing and therefore in line with the Immigration Act 2016; all applicants must be able to demonstrate fluency of the English Language to the level defined in the Job Description.
