Are you passionate about education and looking for a rewarding role in a dynamic school environment? We are seeking a highly organised, compassionate and proactive SEND/Inclusion Family Support Worker to join our Inclusion Team. This is a new role within our established SEND and Pastoral departments and systems, and will provide an excellent opportunity for the right applicant to shape the role in a way that best meets the needs of the students and their families.

St Mary's Catholic School is a thriving Secondary school with over 1100 pupils. We pride ourselves on creating a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where every student can achieve their potential. In the words of others, “St Mary’s is a very special community to be part of..” and where “the culture of positive behaviour … is remarkable”. (OFSTED October 2024).

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), building strong partnerships with families, and ensuring students receive the support they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

About the Role

As our SEND/Inclusion Family Support Worker, you will:

Be the main point of contact for many parents and carers of SEND students.

Build positive relationships with families and support effective communication between home and school.

Coordinate and maintain high-quality pupil profiles and SEND documentation.

Track and monitor interventions, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.

Support Annual Reviews and other SEND review processes.

Gather and record student voice and parental feedback.

Produce reports and information for leaders and external agencies.

Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals to improve outcomes for students.

This role combines administration, coordination and family support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and young people while maintaining excellent organisational systems, and offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of children, young people and families.

Experience working within a SEND or Inclusion department in a school is desirable but not essential.

The ideal applicant will have experience working with children, young people or families and / or experience within a school, SEND, education, social care or family support setting.

Whether you have an education or professional skills background or are looking for a career change into supporting children in education, if you have the skills and ability to make a difference supporting the students, we would like to hear from you.
