SEND Inclusion Manager job summary

Students will be withdrawn from mainstream lessons to receive intervention in key areas such as phonics and numeracy, alongside an adapted curriculum tailored to their needs. The successful candidate will plan and deliver differentiated lessons that support progress, build confidence, and address gaps in learning, with the aim of enabling students to reintegrate into mainstream lessons where appropriate.

The SEND Inclusion Manager reports to thePromote and maintain high standards of learning, behaviour, engagement and progress for all students within intervention groups.

Plan and deliver targeted intervention lessons for small groups of SEND students and those working below age-related expectations.

Deliver structured support in key areas such as phonics, numeracy, and core curriculum skills.

Adapt curriculum content to meet individual learning needs and close identified gaps in knowledge.

Ensure the learning environment is appropriately resourced, structured, and adapted to meet the needs of all students in the class.

Assess, mark and provide feedback on student work to support progress and inform next steps in learning.

Work closely with the SENDCo to adapt curriculum resources and ensure they are appropriately differentiated to meet individual needs.

Assess student progress regularly and use data to inform planning and next steps in learning.

Support the reintegration of students into mainstream lessons through effective transition planning and preparation.

Act as a form tutor for a small group of students as required, supporting their pastoral needs, wellbeing, and engagement.

Work closely with teaching staff, SENDCO, and pastoral teams to ensure a coordinated approach to student support.

Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes engagement and confidence.

Maintain accurate records of student progress, attainment, and intervention outcomes.

Contribute to the development and review of individual learning plans and intervention strategies.

Communicate effectively with colleagues and, where appropriate, parents/carers regarding student progress and support needs. SENDCo.
