What skills and experience we're looking for
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as our SEND Lead from September 2024. This post provides an excellent opportunity for either an experienced SEND Lead or an ambitious and self-motivated professional to take their next steps in school leadership.
This post provides an excellent route into both Deputy Head and Headship positions. Applications will be considered from candidates wishing to be considered for this post on a part-time basis.
The successful candidate will join our recently formed Senior Leadership team, and work alongside our experienced and dedicated teacher team to ensure that vulnerable learners receive high quality, adaptive teaching as well as leading our support staff to ensure that these learners experience high quality provision and support. You will also be expected to develop outstanding relationships with our families and outside agencies.
You should be an outstanding practitioner, with an excellent knowledge and understanding of Special Educational Needs. It would be beneficial if the successful candidate had completed their SEND qualification but this is not essential. However the successful candidate would be supported to complete this training upon appointment. We would encourage candidates to state their areas of curriculum expertise in their application.
A Special Educational Needs Allowance (Level 2) will be awarded to the successful candidate.
You will ensure that all of our children thrive and make excellent academic progress, participating fully in school life. Under your leadership, Allenbourn Middle School will be a school with a reputation for excellence in the field of Special Educational Needs. As part of our team you will have clear opportunities to work in partnership with Trust colleagues to plan, influence and lead.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
leadership skills with the capacity to continue to grow
ability to implement whole school strategies within their area of expertise
a knowledge of current thinking for improving pedagogy
a commitment to achieving the highest standards for pupils
a commitment to developing themselves fully as a professional
the ability to support our school ethos to ensure that our children continue to grow, feel safe and enjoy success with their learning
Candidates are strongly encouraged to visit our school as part of the application process. This provides an excellent opportunity to learn more about our school and to share your experiences. To request a tour, please contact Shona Sydenham by emailing recuriutment@allenbournmiddle.org
As a part of Initio Learning Trust the successful candidate will benefit from high quality professional development opportunities alongside our hard-working staff and Trust colleagues.
