SEND Lead (SENDco) job summary

Join Our Team as a SEND Lead (SENDCo)

Are you passionate about inclusion and committed to helping every child thrive? Heath Primary School is seeking a dedicated and strategic SEND Lead (SENDCo) to join our supportive and forward-thinking team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and strengthening our SEND provision at a time of growth. The role combines strategic leadership with the opportunity to work closely with staff, pupils and families to ensure all children receive the support they need to succeed.

You will lead the development of clear and effective systems, ensuring a strong graduated response and high-quality, consistent provision across the school. A key part of the role will be working alongside colleagues to build confidence in inclusive practice, so that all staff feel supported to meet the needs of pupils with SEND.

Working closely with the SEND Unit Lead, class teachers and the wider staff team, you will help to create a culture where every child is valued, supported and able to achieve their potential. The role is initially non-teaching, allowing you to focus on leadership and systems, with opportunities to work directly with pupils as provision becomes further embedded.

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of SEND and inclusive practice, who can lead and support others effectively, and is committed to developing high-quality provision for all learners. You will either hold, or be willing to work towards, the NASENCo qualification.

As part of the Embark Federation, Heath Primary School offers a collaborative and committed staff team, alongside high-quality professional development and leadership support. You will have the opportunity to shape SEND provision at a strategic level and make a meaningful difference to the lives of our pupils.

Heath Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff are expected to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and all relevant pre-employment checks.

Join us in championing the potential of every child and helping to create an inclusive environment where all pupils can succeed.
