Further information about the job
From September, Croxteth Community Primary School will host a dedicated provision for children with ASC and complex communication and interaction difficulties. This isn’t just a classroom; it’s a bespoke environment designed to bridge the gap for our youngest learners. As part of our founding team of four LSAs, you will work hand-in-hand with our new Specialist Base Teacher to shape the daily practice, the sensory space, and the inclusive culture of this brand-new hub.
What You’ll Be Doing:
You will provide vital, specialized day to day support for the children within our new provision, ensuring their safety, well-being, and academic progress.
The Support: Deliver high quality, practical support tailored to EYFS/KS1 learners, prioritizing communication, sensory regulation, and social-emotional development.
The Interventions: Implement targeted learning and behavior plans under the guidance of the Specialist Lead, utilizing strategies such as TEACCH, PECS, or Attention Autism.
The Collaboration: Work closely as a team of four LSAs to maintain a calm, structured, and positive environment.
The Partnership: Build trusting, respectful relationships with parents and assist external professionals (Speech & Language, OT) during targeted sessions.
Because this is a brand new provision, we are working on an accelerated timeline to be ready for September. As the physical setting is currently being transformed into a specialist hub, we are unable to offer site visits at this stage.
However, we don't want that to stop you from getting a feel for our vision! We highly encourage prospective candidates to contact the school office on 0151 546 3140 to arrange an informal phone call or meeting with our Headteacher, Lottie Harriman. This is a great opportunity to discuss the roadmap for the base and how you might fit into our founding team.
Commitment to safeguarding
Rainbow Education Multi-Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding children and promoting children's welfare and expects all staff, governors, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment and maintain a vigilant and safe environment. This post is subject to all the relevant pre-employment checks set out in 'Keeping Children Safe in Education’, including an enhanced DBS certificate with a barred - list check and online searches.
