What skills and experience we're looking for

Looking for a term time role supporting our pupils? Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of pupils with SEND?

Curledge Street Academy is seeking a caring and enthusiastic SEND Learning Support Assistant to help children develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.

The Reef is an inclusion base that supports pupils from Early Years and Key Stage One, who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), specifically focusing on children with complex communication needs.

The Reef prides itself on its inclusive approach to understanding the individual needs of the children. Each day is different and you will work within a team of four other practitioners under the guidance of the teacher to support a group up to 10 children within the provision.

Working closely with class teachers and the SENDCO, you will provide individual and small group support, deliver tailored learning activities and help pupils with special educational needs and disabilities participate fully in school life. The role may involve supporting children from Early Years to Key Stage Two, including within The Reef.

We are looking for someone who has experience in SEND, patient, adaptable and committed to an inclusive approach, who can build positive relationships and support pupils’ learning, wellbeing and personal care needs where required.

This role would be perfect for an individual who is looking to work in SEND and wishes to develop their knowledge, skills and experience of meeting the individual needs of children with a profile of complex needs.

This role is offered on a permanent basis. Working hours will be 8.40 – 3.25pm. Monday to Friday.

We would love to hear from you if you’re ready to take on a rewarding role in a supportive environment.
