What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Be an excellent practitioner with the commitment and motivation to understand a young persons’ needs.
  • Enhance the development and implementation of systems and procedures which ensure the SEND operational excellence across the school in order that educational aims are met.
  • Management of the cyclical and day to day functions of key school support services in areas including admissions, EHCP, family, student, staff liaison, and medication responsibilities; to enhance their effectiveness in order to achieve improved standards of learning and achievement in the school.
  • Contributing to the overall legal processes of admissions, EHCP, financial management and control in line with the SEND code of practice.
  • Ensuring that the whole school is operating within its legislative framework and complies with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Working in partnership with the SMB and MAT Central Teams to support the implementation of central MAT functions including compliance and admission matters.
  • Have experience of working with young people in Special Educational Needs, ASC and SLCN.
  • Have empathetic expectations of young people, and a commitment to understanding the various challenges which may present barriers to learning.
  • Possess the listening skills to support young people, and their families through understanding their point of view in a non-judgemental approach.
  • Have the ability to foster good relationships with other staff, young people, parents and the wider community.
  • Be hard working, organised and proactive in their professional development.
  • Be a team player who can work effectively with all members of the New Bridge team.
