“Being the best version of Sprowston that we can be”
We are looking to appoint a dynamic, creative and people-centred person to lead the management of SEND provision across our school.
Sprowston Community Academy is committed to being an inclusive learning environment, and as such we have a significant number of students with SEND needs. We are in the process of restructuring the leadership and management of our SEND provision so that we support SENDV students and their families to enjoy the best possible experiences both in and outside of the classroom.
Working closely with our Assistant Headteacher for SENDV, EHCP Manager and Specialist Teacher/Interventions Manager, you will lead an experienced team of TA’s and work closely with students and their families to ensure that their SEND needs are understood, and coherent plans are in place to meet these needs. It would also be necessary at times to support the whole school intervention offer based on individual experience and expertise.
The successful candidate will have significant experience of working within the SEND sector and will have a proven track record of leading and developing teams and working with students, families and multi-agencies to support strong outcomes for young people. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and will have a thorough knowledge of SEND and the Code of Practice. They will be resilient, resourceful and rigorous and determined to work collaboratively and respectfully with others.
Sprowston Community Academy is a growing 11-18 school serving the North-east of Norwich. We are exceptionally proud of our place within the local community and our strong local reputation reflects this. We are an inclusive school and believe passionately that students need to be equipped as good citizens as well as good learners. The successful applicant will work with us to fully promote this ethos whilst also striving for academic excellence.
