  • Salary - Negotiable (Based on experience)
  • Temporary for 1 year initially (31 August 2027)
  • Full Time
  • Required for September 2026

We are seeking a dedicated and visionary SEND Teacher to join our established team within our Enhanced SEND Provision (ESP). Since opening in 2023, the ESP has become a cornerstone of our school, supporting up to eight children from Early Years through to Year 2.

Our provision offers a nurturing, autism-friendly environment specifically designed for pupils with EHCPs whose primary needs are in communication and interaction. As a recipient of the National Nurturing Schools Award, we pride ourselves on a relationships-based approach where every child is supported to reach their specific EHCP targets through a bespoke, exciting curriculum.

Who We Are Looking For

We want a practitioner who is passionate about improving outcomes and is eager to develop their expertise in a specialist classroom within a mainstream setting.

Core Requirements:

  • Expertise: Knowledge and experience in teaching children with SEND, specifically those with a diagnosis of Autism (ASD).
  • Communication Specialist: Experience supporting communication needs through various methods—ideally including Sign-along, TEACCH, PECS, and Attention Autism
  • Dynamic Teaching: An "Excellent" teacher who can deliver Quality First Teaching and adapt dynamically to varying needs.
  • Leadership: The confidence to direct Teaching Assistants and collaborate with external agencies and the wider school team.
  • Commitment: A drive to create bespoke learning plans and a desire to progress your career within SEND provision.

Why Join Suffield Park?

You will be joining a "caring team" that values collaboration over isolation. We offer:

  • A Supportive Network: Work alongside our Headteacher, SENDCO, SRB Lead, and Nurture Teacher.
  • Professional Growth: Access to training and advice from external professionals to help you develop your specialist expertise.
  • A Collaborative Culture: A team approach to planning with experienced teachers across our Reception classes and Early Years Nurture unit.
  • Community: Friendly parents, committed Governors, and, most importantly, amazing children.

We strongly encourage and welcome potential candidates to visit us to see our nurturing environment in action.
