What skills and experience we're looking for

About the Role

As a SEND Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering tailored learning experiences that meet the unique needs of each pupil.

You will:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons with clear progression for individuals, including those on personalised curriculums.

  • Support and guide staff in developing and implementing bespoke learning pathways.

  • Promote active learning, creativity, and pupil engagement through varied and stimulating teaching methods.

  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of pupils.

  • Effectively manage classroom behaviours and address the social and emotional needs of pupils.

  • Foster a supportive, safe, and inclusive environment where every learner feels valued.

  • Use effective questioning, clear presentation, and a variety of resources to inspire curiosity and participation.

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to ensure that all provisions effectively meet pupils’ EHCP outcomes and individual needs.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children with SEND in either mainstream or specialist settings.

  • Is an adaptable, reflective, and committed professional with a positive, solutions-focused mindset.

  • Can demonstrate a clear understanding of inclusive education and personalised learning approaches.

  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working well as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Is committed to improving outcomes for all learners and believes every child can succeed.
