What skills and experience we're looking for
- Experience of working with children with SEMH needs
- Necessary skills and experience to teach a range of subjects to children with different starting points
- Enthusiasm for supporting children with additional needs and difficulties
- Flexibility in approach to ensure that children are supported
- Willingness to support other colleagues and be part of the wider Team Maple
- Willingness to undertake necessary training linked to this role (including Team Teach)

We are looking to appoint a passionate and dedicated teacher to be part of The Maple School.
The Maple School is a specialist provision for secondary aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Our school has been purpose built to accommodate pupils who have an Education, Health and Care Plan. We can cater for up to 48 students, ranging from Year 6 to Year 11. All students have access to a number of curriculum pathways which deliver all core subjects, meaningful qualifications, and therapeutic interventions that will help them to develop and fully engage with school life.
At The Maple School, we understand the unique challenges that our students face, and we are committed to providing the necessary support and resources to help them overcome barriers both academically and personally.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate their in-depth knowledge of teaching and engaging SEND learners, particularly those with SEMH needs. They will also need to have enthusiasm, creativity, resilience and great relationship building skills.
