What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to appoint an experienced, values driven secondary teacher to work with children who have been, or are at risk of being, permanently excluded, many of whom have EHCPs.
The successful applicant will be based within our Phase Two team, working with children from secondary age from Year 8 through to Year 11. You will need to be confident in working with children whose presenting behaviours can be challenging to ensure good progress, both academically and socially and will be able to teach a range of literacy based subjects to include English, PSHE, citizenship and be able to deliver our ‘Passport for Life’ curriculum to develop a range of vital life skills. As a classroom teacher you will plan and deliver learning activities that meet the diverse needs of the students you work with, embedding our Relationships and Behaviour Policy as part of your everyday practice. The successful candidate will need a high level of resilience and a commitment to helping every child achieve more than they believe is possible.

Further details about the role
Voyage Learning Campus is based in Weston-super-Mare. We are the Primary and Secondary Pupil Referral Unit and Medical Provision for young people in North Somerset. We are passionate champions of vulnerable young people in North Somerset who need additional support to help them transition to the next phase of their learning.
This role is for 12 months' maternity leave cover, or sooner upon the post-holder's return.
