What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate professional to join our SEND Team to:

  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), sensory processing needs, SEMH and communication difficulties
  • Play a key role in supporting pupils to regulate, engage and access learning, through structured sensory learning and personalised support strategies

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children with SEND
  • Is patient, calm, adaptive and reflective
  • Can provide 1:1 and small-group support, including emotional and sensory regulation strategies and routines
  • Can contribute to planning and implementing Individual Education Plans or EHCP targets
  • Has some knowledge of sensory regulation strategies and behaviour support techniques
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting pupils with sensory, communication and emotional regulation needs helping them to thrive in a calm, structured environment
  • Working closely with the SEND Team, specialist teachers and external agencies
  • Working as part of a skilled, motivated and proactive SEND Team
  • Further developing a calm, structured and nurturing learning environment to meet the needs of pupils with SEND
  • Contributing to the learning journals for pupils with SEND
  • Building strong partnerships with pupils, parents and carers
  • Intimate care
