SENCO Opportunity – Current Class Teacher

Are you a passionate and dedicated class teacher with a strong commitment to

inclusion? We are offering an exciting opportunity for a current class teacher to

apply for the role of Senco at our school (with Send allowance), in recognition of your

skills and commitment to supporting children with additional needs.

About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic teacher who demonstrates a deep understanding of

inclusive practices and has a proven track record of effectively supporting pupils with

SEND within the classroom. This role will remain primarily classroom-based but will

include additional responsibilities relating to SEN, which may include:

 Supporting the development of inclusive teaching strategies across the school

 Acting as a key point of contact for specific SEN pupils or groups

 Collaborating closely with the staff to adapt planning and interventions

 Offering informal coaching or guidance to colleagues on SEND strategies

 Helping to review and monitor progress for targeted pupils

 Ensure all legal and statutory requirements are met for pupils with SEND

 Maintaining accurate records

 Contributing to maintaining high attendance for pupil

 To engage with parents to build and maintain positive relationships

The Successful Candidate Will:

 Be a qualified teacher with a strong understanding of inclusive education

 Demonstrate excellent classroom practice and a commitment to equity for all

learners

 Show initiative and leadership in supporting pupils with additional needs

 Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and professionals

 Be passionate about removing barriers to learning
