SENDCo and Trust Lead job summary
Sheringham High School are seeking to appoint an experienced, committed and strategic Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCo) to lead and further develop provision for students with SEND across the school. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner and leader who is passionate about inclusion and equity, and who wishes to play a key role in shaping whole-school practice so that every student is supported to achieve their potential.
This is a significant leadership role; the SENDCo will be responsible for the leadership and management of all SEND related activities and issues across Sheringham High School and Sixth Form. The post holder will be responsible for a large number of colleagues’ performance, professional development and professional conduct. The SENDCo will also be a key leader in forming and maintaining positive and effective relationships with all other stakeholders, working together to ensure all students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities receive a first class education.
The role will be mainly school based (0.80FTE) with the remaining time (0.20FTE) Trust based. As Synergy SEND Lead you will provide strategic leadership, oversight, and operational support for the effective management of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the Trust.

Sheringham High School became an Academy in 2011 and is situated on the North Norfolk coast, forty or so minutes from Norwich. Until September 2021, Sheringham High was the central high school in the North Norfolk Academy Trust which has now merged with Synergy MAT.
We are a popular School that caters for over 700 students aged from 11 to 18 who live in Sheringham, Holt and the many surrounding villages. The School occupies a wonderful campus set in its own spacious playing fields with views of the sea.
