What skills and experience we're looking for
The Headteacher and Governors of Holly Hill Primary and Nursery School wish to appoint a permanent SENCO to join our friendly and dedicated team.
This is a demanding role and will require someone with experience, resilience, dedication and an absolute passion for supporting our children with additional needs and their families.
This is a 3 day per week, non-class based role.
We are looking for a SENCO who:
- Has a wealth of special needs experience
- Has sound knowledge of the SEND code of practice
- Can support staff with ‘quality first teaching’ and adaptations for SEND children in the classroom
- Can support staff in our enhanced provision to meet the needs of all learners and deliver effective interventions
- Can analyse and present data succinctly, using this information to inform provision
- Has high expectations of achievement and behaviour and believes that every child can achieve and make progress
- Can communicate effectively with children, parents and staff and who can work effectively as part of a team
- Prioritises our relationship with parents and can work in collaboration with them in the best interests of the children
- Is meticulous in their record keeping and organisation
- Has the ability to work under pressure and prioritise
