Contract Details: Full time. Fixed term maternity cover.
Kingstone High School is seeking a SENDCo to cover a maternity leave on a fixed term contract. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SEND practitioner, or an ambitious teacher ready to take the next step to lead and develop SEND provision within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
As part of their role, the successful applicant will:
Ensure compliance with the SEN Code of Practice and statutory requirements
Maintain and manage the SEN register and coordinate EHCP reviews
Lead and manage SEND provision across the school
Coordinate the delivery of high-quality teaching and intervention, with a commitment to inclusive classroom practices
Advise and coach staff in best practices for supporting pupils with SEN
Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student progress
Work closely with teaching staff to promote high-quality, inclusive classroom practice
Be a part of the school’s senior leadership team and contribute to whole-school improvement
* Note that this role will have little, or no, teaching commitment.
We are looking for someone who has:
Has experience working with pupils with a range of additional needs
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Achieved or be working towards the National Award for SEN Coordination NASENCO
Strong working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation
Excellent communication, leadership, and time management skills
Is passionate about inclusion and pupil wellbeing
