About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced and outstanding SENDco to join our team at Ebor Academy Trust, you will be working across two of our schools. These will be as follows
- Tadcaster Primary Academy
- Camblesforth Community Primary Academy
To be successful within this role you will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a number of different professionals. You will work closely and be supported by both the teaching team and the senior leadership team.
You will also be a key contact for parents and carers, so you will need to be approachable with a positive and caring disposition.
You will be passionate about improving learning outcomes and experiences for all our children.
The job requirements
The primary role of the SENDco is to manage the day-to-day operational work alongside the school leadership team to ensure that the children’s needs are met. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- To lead EHCP reviews
- To support staff with the writing of EHCP documentation and the writing of SMART targets
- To assist the leadership team in leading the provision for special educational needs within school, liaising with the Headteacher as required
- To assist the leadership team to manage appropriate SEND resources and to ensure that they are used efficiently and effectively
- To assist the leadership team develop curriculum resources to ensure that pupils with SEND have the necessary levels of support
- To support the leadership team in managing the implementation of an inclusive curriculum for our pupils
- To support the leadership team in sustaining the effective teaching of pupils with SEND across the school leading to high quality outcomes
