SENDCO job summary
We are looking for an inspiring SENCo who is passionate about children and expects the highest possible standards to support them. Our new SENCo will lead a committed and hardworking team who strive to provide the best education and outcomes for all children. Previous SENCo experience is preferable, but full training would be given to an outstanding candidate with good teaching experience. National accreditation is preferable, candidates without this qualification would be supported to obtain it within two years.
This role will focus on the progress of our SEND students, supporting teachers to ensure they make or exceed expected progress. The SENCo will also assume responsibility for the day-to-day provision made for the students, liaising with external agencies, the Local Authority and other key personnel in school as appropriate. This role is fully supported by the group SENCo and in collaboration with other GLC SEND Coordinators.
