SENDCo job summary

We are looking for are looking to recruit a SENDCO. This is an exciting role for an experienced, accredited SENDCo or for someone with experience in whole school SEND who wishes to gain a SENDCo qualification. We offer strong support from our school inclusion teams, from our Academy Trust Head of SEND, and we also provide opportunities to work collaboratively with other SENDCos from across the Trust. We also offer coaching and access to the SENDCo accreditation (NPQ for SENDCos). This role is part time, working for 3 days a week, with the successful candidate initially working alongside the current SENDCo for an extensive handover and induction. We can, however, be flexible on the weekdays worked and we are open to conversations about working patterns. The salary is negotiable within Teachers' Pay Scales, depending on the successful candidate's experiences to date, with the offer of a Teaching and Learning Responsibility payment (TLR) for this role.

We also have an ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition) Facility, a unique provision in Brighton and Hove that enables children with autistic spectrum conditions to have access to a specialist teaching environment and resources. We embrace the outdoors and have a much loved wildlife garden, incorporating a gardening club and eco club, which see the children learn about the importance of looking after our environment as well as where our food comes from, in addition to a wide range of sports clubs, from tri-golf, basketball, dance and yoga. Music is another important and creative element that permeates throughout the school, through regular performances, a choir, the orchestra and our weekly singing assemblies, led by our dedicated music teacher.
