What skills and experience we're looking for

Tirlebrook Primary School is a community-oriented school where children are nurtured to be ambitious sothey can fulfil their potential. From September, Tirlebrook will be a 6-class school (with on-site governor-lednursery) with mixed age classes across our Early Years and Key Stage 1 and single-year classes in Key Stage 2.

Tirlebrook Primary School is seeking to appoint an excellent, passionate and experienced teaching SENDCo tojoin our senior leadership team. It is an exciting opportunity to lead our provision for children with specialeducational needs and disabilities (0.6) while also continuing to make a meaningful impact in the classroomthrough a teaching commitment (0.4), with subject leadership responsibility also. We are looking forsomeone who can bring warmth, kindness, energy and high expectations to our team.

As SENDCo, you will:

• lead and manage the school’s SEND provision, ensuring high-quality and inclusive practice across all yeargroups

• support the strategic development of SEND across the school, including contributing towards the SDPand managing appropriate policies

• provide / arrange training opportunities for colleagues

• ensure all members of school staff understand their role in fulfilling their statutory responsibilities topupils with SEND

• identify resources required to meet the needs of pupils with SEND

• oversee the work, professional development and appraisal of Teaching Partners across the school

• manage the SEND budget, in collaboration with the Headteacher

• work closely with staff, families and external agencies to support pupils with a range of needs

• drive forward our inclusive ethos, ensuring every child can thrive and succeed

• monitor progress, support high-quality teaching and ensure effective use of resources

As a class teacher, you will:

• deliver engaging, high-quality lessons

• create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment

• inspire children through an inclusive curriculum

We are looking for someone who:

• is a qualified teacher with experience of working with pupils with SEND

• holds (or is willing to work towards) the NPQ SENCO (previously known as the NASENCO)

• has a deep understanding of inclusive practice and a passion for supporting all learners

• is an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills

• can motivate and support colleagues to deliver high-quality provision

• is committed to safeguarding and the wellbeing of all children
