The Role:
We are seeking a passionate, dedicated and aspirational SENDCo to join our dynamic team. We are looking for a candidate with the drive and passion to secure the best of our current practice building towards future excellence. The SENDCo will be responsible for leading and coordinating SEND provision across the school, ensuring that all pupils with SEND have access to a high-quality education tailored to their needs. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a collaborative approach to support and provision.
Essential Criteria:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (or evidence of working towards this)
- Significant experience working with children with SEND in a primary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, parents, staff, and external agencies.
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in a leadership role, particularly in SEND.
- Experience in managing complex casework and external agency collaboration.
- Experience in using data to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND provision.
- Desire to progress with a wider Inclusion Leadership remit
