What skills and experience we're looking for
The Portsmouth Academy is seeking to appoint a highly organised, proactive and personable Senior Administration Assistant to join our busy school office team. This is a varied role offering the opportunity to make a real difference to the day-to-day running of the school while providing an outstanding service to pupils, parents/carers, staff and visitors.You will play a key role in supporting school communications, administration, finance and events ensuring the school operates efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing school communications, including the website, newsletters, social media and marketing content
- Providing high-quality administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team and Executive Assistant/Office Manager
- Coordinating school events, open evenings, trips and whole-school communications
- Supporting Financial administration including school trips, online payments and banking
- Maintaining school systems, calendars, records and GDPR compliance
- Acting as first point of contact for parents, visitors, staff and external agencies helping to deliver excellent customer service
About You:
- Previous administration experience ideally within a busy office or school environment
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office with confidence learning new systems
- Experience of managing websites, newsletters or social media would be advantageous
- A positive, flexible and professional approach with the commitment to excellent customer service
