We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Admin to the Senior Leadership Team to join our fantastic team at CHS South.

This is a Grade 6, permanent post working 35 hours per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days. The starting pro-rata salary is £29,448 and the full time equivalent is £34,237. This role is to start as soon as pre-employment checks are complete.

About the role:

The successful candidate will be positioned in the Administration team act as Senior Administrator for the Headteacher and wider Senior Leadership Team. This is a key role within the school and academy, requiring excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload in a busy school environment.

We’re looking for:

We are seeking a highly organised, proactive and professional individual to provide high-level administrative and organisational support to the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team. The successful candidate should:

  • Have excellent organisational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Have experience working in a busy administrative environment
  • Be confident managing confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Have excellent ICT skills, ideally including Office 365 and School MIS
  • Work well both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Be committed to supporting the vision, ethos and values of the Trust

Main purpose of the job:

  • To support the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team in the smooth execution of a personal diary of events and organisation for meeting deadlines
  • Efficiently organise business travel arrangements, appointments, meetings and events including the collation and distribution of papers
  • Provide a professional and highly effective administrative service for high level meetings, including comprehensive minute-taking and distribution of documents to participants
  • Develop and maintain an effective and flexible filing system, including the electronic school policy folder, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and security of information
  • Facilitate the onboarding process and induction of new staff members to the school team.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for support staff, including direct line management responsibility where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate staff absence records, monitor trends, produce reports for the Headteacher and HR, and coordinate compliant return-to-work documentation.
  • Coordinate staff wellbeing initiatives and events and support communication of wellbeing resources and policies.
  • To work collaboratively with the School Operations Manager to ensure staff records are accurately maintained, including compliance of the Single Central Record
  • To coordinate arrangements for interview processes, including planning the schedule, ensuring an appropriate panel is in place, issuing invitations, greeting candidates and ensuring documentation is properly completed and stored
  • To respond independently to correspondence and produce complex and confidential reports, minutes and letters to a high standard
  • To complete and submit complex forms, returns etc, including those submitted to the LA and outside
