Senior Cover Supervisor job summary

We seek to appoint a Senior Cover supervisor to join our George Pindar School team. This post is permanent, working 37 hours per week, on a term time only basis.

This role will manage planned absence requests and day-to-day absences of teaching and support staff, providing short term cover for absent teaching staff. You will allocate pre-prepared work, whilst keeping students on task and managing the behaviour of students during lessons.  The role does not involve planning, preparing, delivering lessons or assessing and reporting on the development progress and attainment of students. This position is  ideal for those wishing to explore a career in teaching, or for those wishing to step back from a teaching role but wish to remain in an education setting.  There is a pay award pending for this post.
