The Role
We are seeking two experienced and ambitious teacher-qualified Senior Curriculum Managers to join our newly established Apprenticeships & Business Development Directorate. These newly created roles follow the transition of all apprenticeship teaching, assessment, quality and achievement responsibilities into a standalone directorate, creating a fully integrated approach to help shape the next phase of our apprenticeship provision.
Reporting within the Apprenticeships & Business Development team, you will lead an allocated portfolio of apprenticeship provision, directly managing lecturers and assessors while providing strategic and operational leadership to ensure outstanding learner outcomes, quality standards and employer satisfaction.
The two portfolios are expected to cover:
- Building Services Apprenticeships
- Engineering and Wider Apprenticeship Provision
Alongside your management responsibilities, you will maintain a teaching commitment of approximately 9 hours per week, ensuring you remain connected to curriculum delivery and learner experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage an allocated apprenticeship curriculum area, providing direction, support and performance management to lecturers and assessors.
- Drive high standards of teaching, learning, assessment and apprentice achievement, ensuring learners successfully progress and complete their programmes on time.
- Monitor curriculum performance, learner progress, quality indicators and end-point assessment readiness, implementing improvement strategies where required.
- Ensure effective staff deployment, curriculum planning, employer engagement and compliance with apprenticeship funding and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of the directorate's strategic objectives, supporting growth, quality improvement and an outstanding apprentice experience.
Who You Are
- A qualified teacher with significant experience of delivering and managing apprenticeship or vocational education programmes.
- An inspiring curriculum leader with a track record of improving learner outcomes, quality measures and team performance.
- Drive consistently high standards of teaching, training and assessment across College and workplace settings.
- Experienced in line managing teaching and assessment staff, holding teams accountable while supporting professional development.
- Knowledgeable in apprenticeship standards, quality assurance processes, funding compliance and end-point assessment requirements.
- Organised, collaborative and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities, build strong employer relationships and drive continuous improvement.
