The Thomas Hardye School is seeking a Senior Finance Officer to join our hardworking team. The postholder will be responsible for the day to day line management of a small team, maintaining accurate financial records, sourcing supplies at best value and enabling school-wide budget holders to follow best practice.
The role will involve working closely with the Finance & Business Manager to ensure the regulations of the Academies Financial Handbook are met and the stipulations of the MAT financial procedures and scheme of delegation are adhered to. An understanding of school financial accounts and experience of managing a team is highly desirable.
You will have good communication skills, an attention to detail and the ability to manage varied tasks in a busy, team environment with a friendly, professional approach. You will be competent in Microsoft Word and Excel and familiar with good office procedures; you will be able to work under direction but also able to act on your own initiative as and when required; previous experience of using school finance software will be an advantage but training will be provided.
