  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and manages competing priorities effectively
  • Is flexible, with the ability to attend occasional evening meetings and travel within the Trust

About the role
Working closely with the Governance Lead, you will deliver a first-class governance support service, ensuring compliance, best practice, and efficient governance operations across the Trust. This is a varied position combining governance, compliance, and high-level administration, where your judgement, professionalism, and attention to detail will be essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice to Trustees and governance stakeholders on legal, constitutional, and procedural matters
  • Ensure the Trust meets all statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Plan and manage governance meetings, including agenda setting, attendance, and minute-taking
  • Maintain accurate and compliant records, ensuring policy adherence
  • Monitor developments in legislation and governance best practice
  • Support recruitment, induction, and training of governance members
  • Coordinate hearings and panels (e.g., complaints, exclusions, disciplinary matters)
  • Provide guidance on data protection, FOI, and subject access requests
  • Ensure school websites and policies remain compliant and up to date
  • Build strong communication systems across all levels of governance
