SENIOR ICT TECHNICIAN job summary

Sandstone Trust is looking for a confident and proactive Senior ICT Technician to provide first-class technical support across the Trust’s schools. Reporting to the Trust ICT Manager, you will help ensure that staff and students have reliable, secure and effective technology wherever they work and learn.

About the role

Working across Sandstone Trust’s schools, you will support the Trust ICT Manager in maintaining reliable, secure and user-friendly ICT systems. You will support teachers in the classroom, diagnose and repair equipment and cabling faults, maintain networks and peripherals, and help minimise system downtime across the Trust.

Key responsibilities

Provide practical classroom support for teachers using computer systems across the Trust’s schools.

Investigate faults, diagnose problems and complete major repairs to equipment and cabling.

Generate, extend and maintain computer networks, including installing software and keeping anti-virus and utility software up to date.

Provide software support and produce clear, user-friendly guidance for staff and students.

Maintain email, internet services and related activities, including school or Trust websites.

Maintain, plan and upgrade the SIMS system, liaising with the SIMS help desk when required.

Support after-hours use of computer rooms while protecting file servers from unauthorised access.

Keep your professional knowledge current and respond positively to the changing needs of a multi-school Trust.
